About The Gallery

Mi Gallery Tu Gallery is a contemporary art gallery located in the heart of San Diego's Arts District at Liberty Station. Our gallery features the work of Artist Rosa Huerta, with plans to expand and feature work from Latino artists from all over California. (If you are a California based Latino artist, please contact us here)

Our Gallery hosts art exhibitions, and offers art workshops and classes. It is also available for rent for private art shows and events.

Mi Gallery Tu Gallery is located in the heart of the Liberty Station Art's District in San Diego. This robust artistic community provides an unprecedented variety of exhibition spaces and experiences for the community.

At Mi Gallery Tu Gallery, you can experience contemporary Latino art in a beautiful historic setting - the Liberty Station, formerly known as Naval Training Center San Diego, was once the core of the Navy’s presence in San Diego.

About Rosa Huerta, Owner and Contributing Artist

What inspired me to create art is expressing my thoughts and feelings within image, and my background as a Latino woman is represented strongly in my work with the color and textures of my culture.
Most of my work is oil on canvas, and I love to paint by layers. I start with a draft and under-painting, then add color one layer at a time. My style is influenced by the artists I admire such as Sorolla, Frida, and Sargent.

Before becoming a full-time artist, I freelanced as a marketing consultant for local businesses creating digital art and sketches for publicity and advertisement campaigns. I graduated from Southwestern Community College and have a background in graphic design and art instruction.

My most satisfying endeavor has been teaching art for the last 11 years. Be sure to check out some of the classes I offer at the gallery.
